Special pelvic floor exercises after birth of a stargazer baby?

Question from Sabine B.:Two weeks ago, I gave birth to our son at 42 weeks. He was a "stargazer baby"* . Do I need to pay special attention to anything during the exercises after this type of birth, so I do not overload my pelvic floor? Do you also have any advice on the size – rather a 40 mm or 50 mm ball – specifically for strengthening after this type of birth?
(* "Stargazer baby" is a colloquial term for babies who are born face up. The correct medical term for this birth position is "occiput posterior position".)

Answer: This does not change the exercise recommendations. In general, you should wait until everything has completely healed. Because of the higher weight, you should initially use a Viball® 50 mm only for exercises in horizontal positions – lying on your stomach or back, or in the knee-elbow position. Alternatively, you can choose a Viball® 50 mm Light if you want to use the ball immediately in daily life, meaning in an upright position, because the Light versions have less weight. However, do not start until after the complete postpartum period, i.e. from the 7th week postpartum.
