Viball for nighttime urination?

Question from Volker M, 71: I came across your website by chance. Since I have to get up several times a night to urinate, I’d like to try using Viball to train my pelvic floor. I’m 71 years old – is it still advisable to use Kegel balls at this age to support pelvic floor health and the prostate?
As I’m still active, I’d like to use the Kegel ball while hiking, swimming or cycling. Would that be possible? One concern I have is how to remove the ball safely. I’m thinking of starting with the 40 mm size.

Answer
Yes – absolutely! Strengthening and stimulating the prostate is beneficial at any age, and it can be particularly effective during movement. Moderate activities like walking, hiking, cycling or dancing help improve circulation and function in the pelvic area – and may even reduce the risk of prostate cancer over time.
Using a Kegel ball for men like Viball® during these activities is not only possible, but can actively support your bladder control and prostate health. Just be cautious with high-impact sports such as squash or badminton – those can sometimes cause soreness in the pelvic muscles, especially with heavier balls. It’s not dangerous, just temporarily uncomfortable.
As for removal: there’s no risk if you use the application sleeve the first time – particularly if there are unknown anatomical variations in the rectum that could make expulsion harder in a squatting position. If needed, you can always continue using the sleeve.
And don’t worry: the idea that "the bowel pulls things in" is a myth. The natural movement of the digestive system is outward, not inward. A ball-shaped device also cannot get stuck the way longer objects might.
Viball® is a certified medical device – made from implant-grade stainless steel, hygienic, body-safe and designed for long-term use.
It’s one of the very few Kegel balls made specifically for both women and men. You can find more details in our FAQs https://theros.de/en/pages/faq-viball – and in the official instructions for use, which provide important safety information and practical guidanc.
