FMS stands for “Flexibilisation & Massage System”. The name already hints at our different approach compared with conventional dilators — one that’s inspired by nature:
Thanks to their special construction, FMS Dilators are first and foremost exceptionally gentle and tissue-friendly.
At the same time, they offer far more functions than standard dilators:
The development of FMS Dilators is based on addressing weaknesses of common conical silicone dilators. Our focus: the gentlest application possible — in line with our philosophy “quality without compromise”.
These quality features explain the exceptional effectiveness of our glass dilators — confirmed in real-world use and in consistently positive feedback from many users.
Because the effective area is at the head, internal regions can be targeted — e.g., during prostate massage or after vaginal tears — without having to insert the dilator fully. The slender shaft avoids overstraining the vaginal introitus or the anal sphincter. The ultra-smooth surface helps prevent mucosal irritation — for vaginal massage to loosen/activate tissue or for prostate massage to support prostate health, potency and erection. Haemorrhoids often recede after repositioning combined with cooling as early as the first application.
Traditional conical dilators compress tissue more and more with depth. The vaginal entrance (or anal sphincter) yields to this inward pressure, tightens up, and may only be passed with substantial force — the pain at the “thick end” can even be retraumatising.
So we changed the shape entirely: the effective part is not a thick end but the elliptical head. In nature, the ellipse offers minimal resistance in water and air — it glides smoothly into the body as tissue “flows” back over the taper rather than being compressed. On the slender shaft, tissue can move freely in both directions — everything stays “in flow”.
When moved back and forth, the ellipse generates a gently pulsing wave motion in the application area — like a massage. Seven different silhouettes allow varied stimulation when using multiple sizes in a set. The result: maximum effect with maximum gentleness.
Silicone or plastics have less favourable surface structures for glide and can be more challenging hygienically. FMS Dilators are made from hand-blown borosilicate glass with no seams — extremely robust and the smoothest surface of all. This enables use in highly sensitive or traumatised regions without mucosal irritation — e.g., inflamed haemorrhoids, post-surgery, longer flexibilisation massages, or prostate massage.

Typical sets with at most ten sizes are insufficient for the variety of anatomies, indications and severities.
We therefore offer 27 sizes in 1–2 mm steps, several standard sets and customisable sets for vaginal or rectal use — the world’s largest range of dilators. This helps you find optimal sizes for your body and condition (e.g., haemorrhoids grade 1–3) and for erotic stimulation/self-exploration.
Here you’ll find tips on how to choose the right size or set for your needs.
For applications requiring sizes under 14 mm, we offer our Bougie Dilators made of implant-grade steel.
With conventional conical dilators, the widest point is at the end, so the effect concentrates on the vaginal entrance or anal sphincter. Targeted treatment deeper inside is difficult; the pointed shape isn’t ideal for that either. We changed this:
With FMS, the effective area is the elliptical head. Two advantages: efficacy is not tied to insertion depth; and internal hotspots can be treated without overloading the entrance muscles. The gentle head allows broad, gentle stimulation or massage (e.g., of the prostate).
In silicone sets, smaller diameters are usually shorter because the material lacks stability at full length.
FMS Dilators are rigid and allow precise, safe guidance even at small diameters — so all are the same length. This is especially important at the start, when the full length should be gently prepared to avoid limiting efficacy.
FMS Dilators work not only on insertion but especially through the rhythm of in-and-out movement. If you “hold” the head with your muscles, you can train the pelvic floor, vaginal musculature and sphincters intensively. The extremely smooth glass dilators let you gradually increase this motion without mucosal irritation — up to a point where it can simulate penile movement during intercourse. This helps you gently and autonomously (re)acclimatise to vaginal penetration — e.g., with vaginismus or after a longer break from sex. Here, too, the natural FMS shape — echoing penis and glans — shows its advantages.
From 30 mm upwards, FMS Dilators have a cavity large enough to be warmed or cooled by filling them with water-soaked tissue. Warmth supports flexibilisation, massage and erotic stimulation; cold reduces swelling and inflammation and should be used when treating (inflamed) haemorrhoids. For details, see vaginal and rectal applications.
Borosilicate glass is not only extremely robust and smoother than any other material, it’s also odour- and stain-resistant, inert and biocompatible — unlike silicone. Its non-porous surface is easy to clean and meets clinical hygiene demands with simple cleaning. Unlike silicone, borosilicate glass is fully environmentally neutral and sustainable.
As a Class I certified medical device, the effectiveness of our dilators is documented and their safety is ensured by CE certification.

Borosilicate glass is a fascinating material: engineered for the toughest technical demands, incredibly strong, resistant to extreme thermal shock, and absolutely acid- and alkali-resistant. FMS glass dilators therefore go well beyond the safety requirements of the Medical Devices Act. You’ll find specifications, safety certificates and break tests in the Download section.
It also offers beautiful optical properties in refraction that awaken the senses — one reason it’s often used in art.
Every FMS dilator is mouth-blown, crafted and inspected in many steps. Each piece is unique — combining the aesthetic value of craftsmanship with maximum efficiency in use.
