Special pelvic floor exercises after birth of a newborn child?

Question from Sabine B: I gave birth to our son 2 weeks ago in the 42nd week of pregnancy as a star child*. Is there anything I need to pay attention to when doing the exercises after this type of birth so as not to overtax the pelvic floor? Do you have any tips regarding the size (more like a 40 or 50 ball?) specifically for strengthening after this type of birth?
(* Star children are babies who are born face up).

Answer: This does not change the exercise recommendations . In general, you should wait until everything has completely healed and initially only practice the exercises in horizontal positions (lying on your stomach or back or in a knee-elbow position) with a Viball 50mm because of the higher weight. Alternatively, you can also use a Viball 50mm Light if you want to use the ball immediately in everyday life, i.e. in an upright position, because the Lights are lighter. However, do not start doing this until after you have been completely pregnant, i.e. from the 7th week postpartum.
